Area Information
The Kern River Valley is bordered by subranges of the Sierra Nevada, the Kern Plateau to the NE, the Piute Mountains to the SE, the Scodie Mountains to the S and the Greenhorn Mountains to the W.

The Kern River Valley has many outdoor recreations that are centered on the lake for the fishing and boating, the Mighty Kern River for white water rafting and fly fishing.  The surrounding mountains for bike riding, rock climbing, and backpacking.  During the winter time you can visit Alta Sierra Ski Resort to go skiing, snowboarding, tubing, sledding and snowmobiling along trails.

Highways to access the Kern River Valley include State Route 155 and State Route 178.
